| Widely recognized as the most significant Russian artist to emerge from the Conceptualist tradition, Valery Koshliakov was born in 1962 in the town of Salsk, graduated from Rostov Art School in 1985, and currently lives and works in Moscow and Berlin.
He has an extensive record of exhibitions and installations world-wide, and his paintings are in the permanent collection of Duke University Museum of Art, Durham, N.C., the Christian Keesee Collection of New Russian Art in Oklahoma City, and in numerous prominent private collections in America and Europe.
In 2003 Valery Koshliakov was selected to represent Russia at the Venice Biennale, one of the world's oldest and most prestigious international art events.
